In the future, we all agree that the demand for ships carrying CO2 will increase significantly but many things still need to be sorted out between those who will transport it and those who will store it.
“The ordering of CO2 ships will be closely linked to a project and the development of the associated infrastructure. Several projects have been announced but their production capacity or the exact location where the relevant infrastructure will be installed, is not yet known. As a result, the vessel size, length and draft cannot be finalised”, as Heikens explains.
